Après Ski Mahjong League

It's here. The Après Ski Mahjong League with Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced play.

Mondays, March 2, 9, & 16
6:00 PM–8:00 PM
Broadway 10 Bar & Chophouse, Cherry Creek

Rules

All Players

We will follow the NMJL rules
  • If you touch a tile from the wall and decide you want the discarded tile, you may change your mind unless you have moved the tile from the wall

  • If you claim a discard for a Mahjong or an exposure, you must place the tile on top of your rack, not inside it.

    • Placing it inside your rack results in being called "dead."

  • Remember, this is a social game and we will play nice, no matter the level. For beginners who are learning, we will have more flexibility and grace during the game so that you can become more familiar with the rules.

Attendance

If you can't attend one of the league play dates, please let us know as soon as possible through the attendance form below so we can find a sub. The sub scores won't count toward your final score for the league. Subs will be able to win the weekly prizes based on their performance.

ATTENDANCE FORM

Timeliness

For timed league play it is critical you are on time, if you are running late please text me at (719) 401-1177‬.

Parking

You can park in the garage in the B10 building which is across the alley from Hillstone's parking lot. Validate your ticket at B10.

Intermediate and Advanced

We will play a ladder league, which means each week, you'll be placed at a table with people closest to your score the week prior. For the first week I will assign you a seat at random.

Game Play

  • Intermediate: you'll play four games in two hours

  • Advanced: you'll play eight games in two hours

  • If you do not finish in time,  you won't get points for the game. Remember, this isn't a tournament, so let's be kind to each other should you run out of time.  Use this as an opportunity to set your pace and practice. Try to play at a steady pace and be respectful of others by trying to play within the set time.

Scoring
